In this blog, we are going to write how you can prepare Your first show with brand new LED suits. Not so long time ago, we have made much simpler LED suits compare to, other suits but we did it for u purpose to eliminate spiral cords (on the back) and fact that cables don´t look very sexy 😊. This is a reason why we have made suits, where you can program three different channels with a focus on the female body that we wanted to be shown also with UV technology (blacklight). I know UV is quite old and well known, but when you can program it via DMX to the parts where you want it, it makes really wonderful effects. Suits also allow us to do the second type of show during twilight lighting conditions where we don´t use UV.

To create and launch new suits, you need to follow a few basic steps:

• Build concepts of suits – decide what technology  you want to use and read about the advantages and disadvantages of this technology
• Make or buy a prototype of a costume with complete hardware that will control it, don´t forget to buy all parts that your suit will have
• Make or buy the rest of the costumes for the show plus think about spare ones
• Make & record first show, repair, or adjust suits following the first experience with LED suits
• Buy premade suits from us
• Adjust recorded video
• Let the world know about your new product

Build concept of the suit

If you build suits by yourself or buy premade ones, think about the different advantages or disadvantages of any suits type. It sounds confusing now, but clients will book your show followed how the suits look like and what are capable of. For example, with our Tron Girls costumes, we have attended events like women equal rights, with Tron Dance we often do “future” or more robotic thematic events and with Tron Man, we do events that suit more casual opportunities. All of them use LED technology but “feeling” from the suits needs to often match hidden messages from organizations who are making the events.

Make or buy a prototype of the costume

When you decide what you want to create/build you will need a very first prototype. It will take time, and I can guarantee it will. You will need to order multiple types of materials that will be your skelet, also you will order and try multiple types of LED strips because they are very different even all looks the same. After you need to find the right software for you with hardware. I am almost sure, you need to buy it from 3^rd party because making it, it´s almost impossible to do without experience and capacity (IT programmers, hardware programmers, etc.). I can recommend you our LED Strip Studio software because it´s a very user-friendly and steady experience. Also if you don´t want to build your own prototype you can buy our suits where we figured out a lot of head pain during the starts.

Make the rest of the costumes

When your LED costume is done you will need to create the rest of the costumes or buy premade from us. We can recommend you at least 5 suits in total on stage plus at least one but better two suits as a spare. It´s because you never know what can happen with suits before the show – it´s still electronic as your mobile and it can break, and during shooting/ event you don´t have time to repair it. Of course, it´s not mandatory but after hundreds of events that I have done personally, I would never go to the event without a spare suit.

Rehearsals & Updating & Record show

When suits are done or you decided to buy a fully finished one, you can program the show, do the rehearsals, adjust the show regarding your rehearsal, do all necessary changes on the suits or in the show, and set up a record date. Prepare that you will record the show dozens of times to make sure everything is perfect and your show will look amazing on the video.

This is a job for your graphic or external contractor if you don´t have any working for you. They will cut the video, do all color adjustments, fix what needed to be fixed, add music, watermarks … just everything that needed to be done before sending the video to the world.

Let the world know about your new product

Now is time for your marketing team. You need to add the show on your social media like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram (or Twitter), and your own web. Also, you need to send it to your subscriber’s list in your newsletter and finally register your new show to 3^rd party agencies that are offering entertainment. This is not an easy job if you just starting in because there is plenty of these agencies. Everybody has different requests on how to add their show on their webpage some of them will not answer you or answer very late and in the end, you will realize 85% of these agencies will never ask for inquiry or never book you but this is how the business works. A good option is if you can do some show in your home country even for less money but to have additional video materials, you will see if your suits don´t need any additional updates regarding your experience (and trust me it will happen) and in general start using the suits because this is the reason why you made it.

Conclusion

It´s not an easy process to start doing Tron LED Shows. When you are starting your first show you need to learn many things, also the suits can break on the event or just something can happen, you need some time to learn every possible problem and how to solve it because nothing is worst feeling than you can´t perform a show where client booked you for a lot of money, often in a different country. I am very glad it never happened to us that we didn´t manage booked show for the client but sometimes we had many many stress and headaches during some events even our company is the developer of software and hardware and we know everything from A to Z, so it will happen to you also.
