Why is it important to participate at event expos and fairs?
Hello everybody,
This year we really boosted our presence on the various event expos to do with LED and other technology around Europe. We even took an opportunity to go to an expo in China.
Why, you may ask? Let’s talk more about it in this blog.
Over the past couple of years, we have frequently visited Frankfurt Pro Light & Sound in Germany and even the Pro Light & Sound in China. These events are one of the biggest of their kind in Europe and Asia.

Our company Showtacle Ltd. doesn’t deal only in LED shows, we also do LED installations (for example in TV studios, clubs, for the exteriors of buildings), and make laser controllers (software and hardware).
You can see our product range on ledstripstudio.com or showtacle.com

We really wanted to make our mark as the Tron Event Agency in different countries, to promote our LED suits and the event package we offer, and so we have visited multiple events, such as the Event Day in Prague (Czechia), the Event Biz in Vienna (Austria), and the Event Expo in Bratislava (Slovakia).

Why is it important for us as a company to visit different event expos?
There are four main reasons:
- Scoping out the competition – you can get business cards from different event agencies, check out their web pages and products they offer
- Networking – you can collect contact details for managers of big companies that are responsible for corporate events (like Christmas parties, team buildings, celebrations for launching new projects, etc.), and give them your contact, so they are aware of your services and can get in touch when they are planning an event
- Customer survey – you can ask people what they want when they’re planning an event, what they like and dislike on our products, where there is a potential for improvement (software, technology use, etc.)
- Checking out the competition and their products
What do we expect to get from the fair?
- Meet new people that work in the same industry as we do
- Get a good business relationship with agencies, it is especially important that the potential clients can see our LED suits live – we bring our merch to each fair to show them what they can expect from us
- See the new trends from our competitors, see what services and products they are offering

How can you measure whether the expo was a success or not?
This is a very tricky part. It’s very difficult to see exactly how many shows or how many suits you sold as a result of being at the expo. It’s definitely a long-term investment, not a short-term one. In contrast, a short-term investment would be, for example, when you boost your video on social media.
Conclusion: Is it really worth it to go to a fair where you pay thousands of euro just for a booth and extra money for the promoters, materials, travel? To be honest, we are not completely sure. We wanted to boost our activity, we are putting a lot of effort into our new projects, because we want to make better and bigger shows. I will be sure to let you know if we succeed in another blog ?.
