Hello Tron fans,

I am receiving some questions regarding el wire LED suits technology and if it is work to build suits with that. A very simple question is definitely not, even if they are very slim and bright and you can make very nice shapes with that. We have used them once and it was simply enough experience for us to leave that technology forever. Here is why:

However, we don´t like this technology, here are some of our reasons

  • Maintenance – one of the biggest problems with this technology is how often you need to repair it or how often el wire cables break. And it´s almost all the time. For us, it´s not any point working with something that is not reliable for the shows that we are offering and the quality of shows that we expect to do for our clients.
  • Changing colors – significant disadvantage of el wire is that you can´t actually change colors you install one color that you can turn on and off and. Your suits will look all the time same that also we don´t really like.
  • Dangerous – EL wire is working under high voltage and can be dangerous for the dancers if something break.

Some of the advantages:

  •  el wire cables are cheap,
  • very easy to install, and actually control.

Also because you can´t change the colors it´s easy to program, due you can´t really do a lot with it just turning it on and off.

Conclusion

El wire technology has some advantages and some disadvantages, for us, it´s a big red flag due they are not reliable and need a lot of maintenance that we don´t like. We are not the only one that thinks the same you can read about it by fashion maker here. Also, big point is that you can´t change any colors on the suits and we think it’s boring to create shows with and then compare much better reliable technologies like LED analog suits –  fiber optic that looks similar but doesn´t have maintenance problems at all.
