Tips for Tron Dancers

Hi Tron Dancers!
Have you ever been thinking about how does it feel to dance in a LED costume? Do you know the do’s and dont’s in creating LED show? If not, this is the right blog to read. We will tell you some tips and tricks, which can help you in creating your first light show or improving the existing one.

These are the main rules you should observe when you want to create an unforgettable show:

Exaggerate the movement

A small movement is definitely not visible in a light costume. Nice groovy moves in your chest or hips are not visible at all. They are drowned by the light. You should make big and strict moves instead of small ones to create a complex show with an element of the Wow effect.

Rotate your body into shapes where the LED’s are visible

Every LED suit has parts, where the LED’s are concentrated more and the parts where are no LED’s. Our aim is to dance in positions, where the shining part is always visible. There is no sense in dancing in a position, where you are hiding the LED’s.

Leave some space for the lights

I know that in ‘normal’ choreographies, there is constant action needed. But in a light show when you move all the time, there is no space for the light effects. So do not be afraid to stand in one position for a few counts and the lights will create the Wow effect instead of you. Remember, sometimes less is more.

Don’t overlap the other dancers when you don’t shine

The dancers think when their suit is off in some parts of the show that they are invisible but many times they overlap the other dancers who are shinning at the moment what creates the silhouette and means the dancer is visible despite his suit is off.

Be in your position a moment before the light comes

I know it sounds strange, but when you jump into your position in a very last moment, sometimes you do not get it and the light catches you in movement what wasn’t your aim. So when your suit is not shining, you quickly need to get to your position and wait for the light.

Think of the receiver

Dancing in our LED suits is really comfortable and without any restrictions (flexible enough to make all tricks, not heavy so you can jump…), the only thing you need to think of is the receiver on your back. It is a small, but very important backpack which is on your back during the whole show. It means that you should exclude all backspins or jumps on your back.

Make a proper rehearsal before you go to the event

When you create a light show in a dance studio without the costume, you always just predict what can look good in lights but when you actually put on the LED suit and see the piece in light, you can find out that it doesn’t look good at all. So it is really important to make a rehearsal in lights and have time to rebuild the show in case there are some parts of the show which do not look as good as you expected.
