Your own LED show
Hello Tron fans,
in this blog, we are going to explain, why it is beneficial to buy Tron suits or controllers right now, before the pandemic ends.
It is generally known, every complex project needs some time to think about, prepare, realize, and eventually sell. For Tron shows, this rule is 100% correct, maybe even double accurate. Many people think it can be quite quick and easy to create a high-quality Tron show but the reality is different.
Why?
Let me explain you the process of creation. If you want to create your own LED show, you have got two options. The first one is easier: If you do not have enough skills, time or energy it is more beneficial for you to buy our LED suits with the controllers. Here, the half of the job is already done. But you still need to do is to build a choreography, rehearse it with the dancers, program it in Led Strip Studio and start selling the product.

If you are ready for the more difficult option – to create your own LED suits design, you have to buy the controllers and the software. I wrote “have to” because I am sure it is not economically rentable to program full software on your own, plus it has to be super reliable because you usually work on very important projects for your clients. And it is not an easy job at all.
First of all, you need to find the right software & hardware. There are not many options on the world market, what you can use, we have already written a blog about it, you can read it HERE.
Controllers:
Our main controller can reach up to 100 meters (in an open space) and send a steady signal to the receivers on the dancer’s backs. You are connected to your computer through the ethernet cable. There is an option to add UV device, laser or beam lights that will be also synchronized with your LED suits. All is controlled via DMX signal. You can control up to 10 receivers connected to one controller and each one has got 16 outputs. It means you can have 16 glowing body parts of your suit. We are using this scheme (picture 2), but you can change it easily to your design. It´s up to you.
In case you are preparing a bigger show (more than 10 dancers), it is very easy, just connect another controller (by using a switch) and you have 20 dancers on stage. If this was not enough for you, just add another one and you have 30 glowing dancers on stage dancing your show.
Timing
1-7 days = Research of the market and discussion in the team
Of course, you do not decide about everything immediately. Usually, there are very long discussions with your team, what is the most beneficial option for you.
3-15 days = Buying our controllers and receiving the goods
When you already decide to buy controllers, you need to wait till goods come to you. It can take from 3 working days (express courier) until 2 weeks (standard post) but it really depends, where are you located.
14-31 days = Working on the prototype of the LED suit
When you receive the goods, you start working on your prototype. It means you will be soldering … a lot ?. But first, you need to find the right material for your main skeleton, where all the LEDs will be fixed properly. After all the soldering is done, your LED lights are working and the costume is flexible and comfortable enough for dancing, your first prototype is done.
18-62 days = Doing the rest of the suits (5 more suits)
Now you are ready to make the rest of the suits because I guess you want to create a LED show with more than one dancer.
1 – 5 days = Preparing choreography
When all the suits are done and working properly, you can start training your choreography and thinking about cool effects that will look amazing in your show.
1-2 days = Programing the show
After all rehearsals and training time for programming is here. In our LSS software, which has a lifetime license (without paying any extra cost) you can program an unlimited number of shows and save them for the event time. You will prepare everything in your beforehand and when you reach the event, just connect all dancers, push the play button and watch your show ?.
1-2 days = Rehearsals, correcting the show
It always happens, that after seeing the choreography in lights for a first time, you find more things you can improve: dance moves which do not look that amazing in lights as you expected or some correct the mistakes if you have done some in your programming.
Now it is the time for in my opinion the most difficult part: Selling the show and making a proper LED event. It looks like fun when I wrote the most difficult part, but I am not lying to you. Everything can be perfect, you can create the best choreography in the whole world, but if nobody pays you for your product everything was wasted.
1 day = Shooting high-quality video of your show
The main thing is to shoot a high-quality video of your choreography, because you cannot persuade your client about magnificent show if he/she cannot watch it beforehand.
1 – 4 days = Post-production of the video
If you are at least a little bit oriented in video-making you know, you need to spend some time with post-production to it is perfect. When all these steps are done, you are ready to send the offers.
? days = Offering the show and sell it
Trust me, it is now easy to sell the show when you are new to this market. You need to invest a lot of energy to promote your project, get to know people and so on.
Positive view, when everything is going very smoothly = 41 days
Negative view, when a lot of things are not as we planed = 129 days
Realistic view, when something will go well and something not = 88 days
By this time (we all hope) Covid-19 pandemic will be gone, and you can finally dance your favorite LED show.
As you can see it is a really time-consuming process. This schedule is rough and does not count on waiting for material, or people who will be participating in the project, sometimes do not have all their time just for this project. It means you can easily wait 1-2 weeks just for video shooting or finishing the costume design. So in our point of view, it is really beneficial, to act now, if you want start running your business as soon as everything is opened again.
