For organisers & technicians
Technical requirements
Every venue is different – these are our recommendations and requirements for an LED show that looks its best. Something does not fit your venue? Tell us, we have performed on small club stages and in bright shopping malls too. You can also download the technical rider (PDF); the Tron Pixel Robot has its own rider.
- Size: we recommend about 5 × 4 m for a 5 + 1 show and 8 × 4 m for a 7 + 1 show. We have also performed on smaller stages in clubs and discos – the show just looks bigger when the dancers can stand a bit further apart.
- Height: we recommend a stage height of at least 3 m – the higher, the better it looks.
- Floor: a matte carpet on the stage, so the light of the costumes is not reflected by the floor.
Lighting
Link to this section: Lighting- Total darkness is ideal for our performances. We have also performed in shopping malls with quite a lot of light – the most important thing is a dark background behind the stage.
- Additional lighting effects: we do not recommend extra lighting during the show, except lasers – with lights on, the black suits can become visible, while lasers do not light up the surroundings and are a great addition to the show. If other light effects are required, please aim them at the surrounding area, not at the stage with the dancers.
- We play the music from a standard notebook, synchronously with the light show.
- We need a 3.5 mm audio jack cable with access to the sound system.
- We recommend good-quality sound with strong bass – it is much better when the audience can actually feel the beats.
LED wall synchronization
Link to this section: LED wall synchronizationFor synchronization with an LED wall, MIDI or LTC time code must be provided. We bring our own time code receiver.
PC and controller placement
Link to this section: PC and controller placement- The placement of our setup depends on access to the sound system.
- We need the 3.5 mm audio jack cable, a table or space of at least 0.5 × 0.5 m and 2 power outlets for the setup.
- We prefer a stagebox near the stage for our use. If that is not possible, we connect to the sound system in the control or sound booth instead.
- If the control booth is far from the stage, we need an Ethernet cable for the controller – the controller is placed next to the stage and connected to our PC in the booth.
- Our wireless controller uses a 2.4 GHz smart wireless system with cognitive coexistence, which automatically avoids occupied frequencies.
UV lamps
Link to this section: UV lampsUV lamps are used only in these acts: Tron Girls, Tron Man, Tron Dolls and the Wedding Show.
- Please provide 2 DMX cables (3- or 5-pin) – one to connect the controller at our station to the UV lamps and one to link the UV lamps together. This allows a quick removal of our equipment after the act without disrupting the event.
- Each UV lamp uses 90 W and needs a 230 V power outlet.
- The lamps are best placed directly in front of the stage, no more than 10 m away – greater distances reduce the light and the overall effect.
In-ear monitors (Tron Drummers)
Link to this section: In-ear monitors (Tron Drummers)The Tron Drummers act requires in-ear monitors (IEMs). They are essential for the performers to hear the audio, stay synchronized and keep precise timing throughout the show. The IEM system, including the earpieces, must be provided by the event production.
Rehearsal
Link to this section: RehearsalEvery stage is a bit different, so we strongly recommend one rehearsal on site to test all the equipment and the signal between our controllers and the suits.
Changing room
Link to this section: Changing roomA private, secure and well-lit changing room must be provided for the performers – with chairs, a mirror, enough space for costume changes and preparation, and soft drinks and coffee.
